About Fiddle & Fern

Hi, I'm Beth! I'm the author of Fiddle & Fern, and a self-admitting house plant addict. I live with my sweet husband Scotty in Adelaide, South Australia, and absolutely love filling our house with all things green and alive (okay, maybe not all things - frogs aren't welcome. Or lizards. Just plants, really.)

Surprisingly, I used to hate plants, especially when given as gifts. The idea that someone would spend THEIR money on something that they expected ME to keep alive was beyond me. However, when my neglected Peace Lilly (ironically, given as a gift) began thriving in the corner of my living room, I started to grow a new fondness for the things. A few Pinterest searches, Instagram stalks, and YouTube deep dives later, something was burning inside of me to fill my entire house with plants. I really can't explain it, I got hooked! That's when I welcomed 'Monty' the Monstera and 'Fiddle' the Fiddle Leaf Fig into our little family (hoping I get more creative when naming my future children).

From there we've spiralled, and now I just can't get enough. If I'm being frank, I've started this blog selfishly, to gain validation from fellow lovers of house plants, but I do hope you gain mutual satisfaction from these tips and tricks, pretty pictures, and probably some absolute fails when it comes to all things house plants!
